Innovation is the central theme of the 9th SENOP event
Sponsored by the National Electric System Operator (ONS) and organized by ENGIE, with the support of the Brazilian Committee of the Commission for Regional Energy Integration (Comitê Brasileiro da Comissão de Integração Energética Regional – BRACIER), the National Electrical Installations and Systems Operators’ Seminar (Nacional de Operadores de Sistemas e Instalações Elétricas) SENOP is the principal Brazilian forum for debates and updating the National Interconnected System operational teams in real time. This year, the seminar is to be held from September 23 to 25 in the city of Florianópolis, participation in the event already open for enrollment.
The capital of the state of Santa Catarina is known as the Brazilian Silicon Valley – thus having a close synergy with the 9th SENOP event, the core theme of which is the Operation in the Future and focusing on technology, processes and people. “The main aim of SENOP is to foster the operational excellence in the Brazilian electrical system through improvements and the professional development of the responsible teams. The program for the event has been designed to make for an intense exchange of experiences among sector professionals, particularly among energy generation, transmission and distribution companies”, comments Sinval Zaidan Gama, ONS’s Operations Director.
The panels and the technical work will be led by specialists from an array of different companies such as CELESC, AES TIETÊ, CHESF, TAESA, Itaipu, Eletrosul, ISA CTEEP, CEMIG, AQTech, ENGIE and ONS. The use of new technologies and systems will be the central focus of the meetings covering from intelligent robots for the inspection of substations to data mining, all of which will be discussed during the event. “This is an area in which information technology is increasingly present and responsible for automating a series of tasks. For this reason, the 9th SENOP event will be a moment for sharing experiences and updating all in the sector”, adds José Laydner, Chief Generation Officer at ENGIE Brasil Energia.
