ENGIE launches an affirmative action with a trainee program for women engineers

ENGIE Brasil Energia is currently accepting enrollments for a trainee program with affirmative vacancies for women engineers. It´s a Diversity & Inclusion action in line with the Company investments for accelerating gender equality, especially in incentivizing and generation of opportunities for women to develop their careers in the areas of the Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (or STEM). In all, there are 11 vacancies in different regions of Brazil. Enrollments may be made through the website: https://engie.across.jobs/

The trainee program with affirmative vacancies for women engineers ontributes directly to ENGIE’s global public commitment for reaching 50% of women in managerial positions by 2030. “Besides being the correct thing to do from the point of view of gender equality, promoting diversity is also important and necessary for organizations to position themselves in a more competitive and innovative way”, the Chief Administrative Officer at ENGIE Brasil Energia, Luciana Nabarrete explains.

The initiative also incorporates actions for the development of managers and mentors to accompany the new professionals. “To guarantee the conditions of entry of women in technical careers and to ensure that we have an inclusive environment for developing them is a fundamental step towards continuing the preparation of the company for the future”, said the Company’s Chief Operations Officer, José Laydner.

Who can participate

Women graduating preferably between January 2019 and July 2022 in the following courses:

  • Electrical Engineering, Automation, Electronics or Mechatronics
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering

The Program

With its start scheduled for September of this year, the development program will run for 12 months. During this period, the trainees will undergo technical training and training in behavioral skills, as well as participating in hands-on experience in different areas of Operations, Maintenance, Environment, Occupational Health and Safety and Administration.

The trainees are to be posted to the Power Plants until the end of the program. At the end of the process, those professionals who are approved will be hired in the position of Engineer 1.
