With the intermediation of the Salto Santiago Hydropower Plant, \u00a0ENGIE Brasil Energia, was awarded the SESI ODS 2021 prize. This accolade aims to recognize, valorize and disseminate work in favor of the SDGs executed by industries, companies and teaching institutions, both public and third sector, through initiatives for achieving \u00a0the goals in the state of Paran\u00e1.<\/p>\n

During the virtual ceremony held during the Sesi ODS 2021 Congress, ENGIE was placed first in the Big Industry category for the Women of Our Neighborhood project, designed and implemented in 2020 as one of the Company\u2019s initiatives for ameliorating the negative impact of the pandemic with its focus on women, one of the segments of the population worst affected\u00a0 and one which will take more time to return\u00a0 to the conditions as they were before COVID.<\/p>\n

The program consists of initiatives for incentivizing entrepreneurship and the generation of income as well as offering free courses for skills training, information on support networks, initiatives for raising the sensibility and awareness\u00a0 for combating\u00a0 domestic violence and also healthcare support. In the award\u2019s first edition, of the 28 initiatives chosen nationally, two are from Paran\u00e1: TECHNOLOGY IN CAPILLARY THERAPY from Quedas do Igua\u00e7u, and NUTRI\u00c1VIDA <\/em>from Saudades do Igua\u00e7u.<\/p>\n

Among the teaching institutions recognized by the SESI ODS 2021 Award, \u00a0the Jos\u00e9 de Anchieta State College, Quedas do Igua\u00e7u, was a winning participant in another of ENGIE\u2019s projects,\u00a0 TransformA\u00e7\u00e3o. This stimulates protagonism for fostering initiatives related to the SDGs among students from schools located in the municipalities surrounding the plants.<\/p>\n

Also during the course of the Congress, this time in respect of the Pe\u00e7a por Pe\u00e7a<\/em> (Piece by Piece) Award, of the ten schools awarded, five of them enjoy ENGIE\u2019s support through the TransformA\u00e7\u00e3o project.
