ENGIE Brasil Energia has been a component of Brasil, Bolsa, Balc\u00e3o\u2019s (B3) \u00a0\u00a0Corporate Sustainablity Index (ISE) portfolio \u00a0since launch 15 years ago. Only six other companies listed on the B3 have continually featured in the index since inception. Effective from January 6 until January 1, 2021, the new portfolio has \u00a036 shares in 30 companies, corresponding to 37.62% of the total value traded on B3. The announcement was made on December 2 at the head offices of the American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham Brasil) in S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are celebrating one more year in the ISE with the certainty that our market, shareholders and well as other stakeholders view our management practices together with products which increasingly act as catalysts for sustainable development, as differentials,\u201d declares Chief Executive and Investor Relations Officer of ENGIE Brasil Energia, Eduardo Sattamini.<\/p>\n

The ISE is deemed Brazil\u2019s most important corporate sustainability stock index, ranking fourth in the world. Its key objective is to perpetuate the theme and ensure its dissemination among companies. The executive adds that electricity sector is one of the drivers of global decarbonization and ENGIE is proposing to lead this movement by offering\u00a0 renewable solutions and those in close proximity to the clients.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo have been a component of B3\u2019s ISE for 15 years now is indicative that we are on the right track and more than this, in a constant state of evolution. In 2020, five of the United Nations Organaization\u2019s (UNO) Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are to be prioritized by the ISE: SDG 7 (affordable and clean energy), SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth), SDG 9 (industry, innovation and infrastucture), SDG 11 (sustainable\u00a0 ciities and\u00a0 communities) and SDG 13 (climate action).<\/p>\n

Over the next 15 years, UNO\u2019s vision is that the companies should act in convergence with the 2030 SDG agenda, expanding the dialog on specific themes such as socio-environmental emergencies, local development, human rights, communication with stakeholders, socio-environmental policies, management\u00a0 of risk and opportunities, governance, compliance and the fight against corruption.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
