By the end of 2019, Blumenau\u2019s (SC) population of 352 thousand will enjoy the benefits of being one of the most advanced cities in the world in terms of urban mobility technology. ENGIE has developed an innovative project which will transform the local management of traffic.<\/p>\n

The project consists in the supply of the Blumenau Operational Control Center (OCC) using ENGIE\u2019s Livin\u2019 software. Livin\u2019 is to be a Single Integration Platform and will be responsible for the Management of the \u201c Monitoring Belt\u201d, Road Safety (CCTV) and automatic incidents detection (AID) systems, Traffic Lights, Information Sources, Public Transportation, Civil Defense Occurrences, Social Media and Waze. In this context, equipment such as video-wall, control desks, access control, fire detection and alarms will also be included in the OCC<\/p>\n

Also part of the project is the supply and installation in public thoroughfares of the city\u2019s \u201cMonitoring Belt\u201d 66 street cameras and Analytic Software for automatic vehicle license plate recognition (OCR), the respective characteristics and classification as well as the implementation of a further 98 CCTV and AID cameras.<\/p>\n

The project\u2019s aim is to contribute to public safety, reduction in, and rapid response to accidents in addition to helping in the supervision of the fleet circulating in the streets of Blumenau.<\/p>\n

The work undertaken by ENGIE is aligned to all that is the most modern and reflecting in greater safety and efficiency for the citizen\u201d, underscores ENGIE Solu\u00e7\u00f5es managing director, Leonardo Serpa.<\/p>\n

For mayor M\u00e1rio Hildebrandt, the agreement with ENGIE is of extreme importance. \u201cThe aim is to work towards building the Blumenau which we want for our children and our grandchildren. And this discussion incorporates Road Safety and greater mobility for our drivers, our pedestrians and our cyclists and guarantees a better quality of life for the population\u201d, he declares.<\/p>\n

ENGIE is already one of Blumenau\u2019s partners, since 2012 being responsible for the Operation and Maintenance of the municipality\u2019s public lighting through the SQE LUZ consortium together with the Quantum Engenharia company.<\/p>\n

In addition to urban mobility solutions, ENGIE also offers solutions to cities in the area of distributed solar energy generation, charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, among others and instrumental in rendering cities smarter, more human and sustainable.<\/p>\n

\u201cResources have to be viewed in an intelligent and coordinated fashion. We are talking about respect for taxpayers investments which will see a more effective return in terms of public safety and mobility.
