ENGIE opens 250 vacancies for operating TAG’s gas pipelines
ENGIE, the largest private sector energy company in Brazil with a focus on electric energy generation, commercialization and transmission, gas infrastructure and energy solutions, is to take over the operation and maintenance of TAG’s gas pipeline network. By December more than 240 new professional personnel are to be hired by the company to work in the area and perform the service which will be executed by Transpetro until June 2022.
TAG has the most extensive gas transmission pipeline in the country at approximately 4,500 km and accounting for 47% of the total gas transportation network in Brazil. A total of 3,700 km runs along the country’s coastal region, transecting nearly 200 municipalities in nine Brazilian states – Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe, Bahia, Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro – and a further 800 km in the Amazon, a section which connects the Urucu oil field to Manaus in the state of Amazonas.
The vacancies to be open by ENGIE are to work in cities in the North, Northeast and Southeast regions. In August, the company will begin training the operational team. To apply for one of the positions offered, candidates should enroll through the Jobs.engie.com site
In its determination to lead a change in the energy sector and foster gender equality in the company by 2030, ENGIE is encouraging women to enroll as candidates for the jobs on offer.
“Our company has gender equality as one of the pillars of its diversity policy. Among our non-financial objectives for example is a significant increase in the number of women in positions of leadership, increasing from 24% in 2020 to 50% by 2030. In this way, we stimulate the participation of women in all our selection processes”, says Simone Barbieri, People and Culture officer at ENGIE.
Experience in the sector – ENGIE is already a major player in the gas chain, operating more than 36,000 km of trunk gas transportation pipelines and over 230,000 km of distribution lines in the world (France, Romania, Mexico and Argentina) as well as natural gas storage facilities in Europe (France, Germany and the United Kingdom) and the operation of 3 LNG terminals in France. The company will have the benefit of this experience for serving the pipeline market in Brazil.
